Hello beautiful people,
Hello beautiful people,
Thank you for your interest in the Masterclass for Mums. This program is all about maternal wellbeing. Below is a little bit of info about the program and what you can expect as a guest speaker.
Our unique initiative champions maternal wellness by illuminating the profound transformation of matrescence — a journey every mother experiences yet few fully understand. Through authentic education and targeted resources, the Masterclass supports mothers by highlighting factors that enhance maternal wellness while challenging the harmful stereotypes and social expectations that undermine maternal wellbeing and the mother-child connection.
Did you know...
- The leading cause of maternal death in the first 12 months following birth is suicide.
- Most women are unaware of the identity and lifestyle changes they will go through as they become mothers.
- The identity transformation experienced in motherhood and matrescence causes many women to feel they have lost themself.
- Mothers often hide their struggles and emotions for fear of being judged.
- The majority of postpartum care and parenting programs focus solely on child development. The importance of maternal wellbeing and the mother-child relationship is often overlooked.
- A significant number of mothers experience burnout and overwhelm as a result of the social expectations placed on mothers.
- Barriers to maternal education, support and community are guilt, shame, accessibility and the fear of being seen as a failure.
As a community we have the power to create change!
The Masterclass for Mothers boldly leans into research to enhance and protect maternal wellness using a community care model.
- This program was created locally, for locals, because our location shouldn’t be a barrier to support and up-to-date research
- It has been approved and funded by the Queensland Mental Health Commission to run in the Whitsundays for 12 months
- It will run 4 times, in line with the school terms
- Each group will run for five to six weeks using a combination of 1-1 and group sessions
- A guest speaker will be invited to present at the end of each group session
- Guest speakers will be asked to speak for approximately half an hour
- Each group will have different dynamics and needs.
Guest speakers will be chosen by the group depending on their interests and needs. I’ll be sure to check in with you regarding your availability and give you as much notice as possible.

The Whitsundays is my hometown, it’s where I grew up, and where I returned to raise my family.
It’s where my passion for advocacy began. But just like mothering – this can’t be done alone.
Will you join the tribe?
