Hi, I’m Mandy!

I’m a mum to 3 boys.

I hide my favourite chocolate from them in the vegie drawer.

I’m passionate about supporting mothers to make sense of their motherhood experiences using research, curiosity and compassion.

The teal waters of the Whitsundays is my favourite place to be.

I have a background in psychology and social sciences and completed my thesis on the regulation of pregnant women’s bodies at the University of Queensland.

Working with families, young people, incarcerated persons and in the corporate sector has highlighted how vital it is to honour the process of identity evolution.

Someone always seems to see me singing in my car!

This is all just part of who I am.

What’s my story?

I’m looking forward to hearing your story, but if you want to hear more of my story before we work together, fair enough, read on.

After completing Uni I worked in Corrections and Youth Services. It was while working with young people and their families that I discovered my ability to hold space for people redefining their identity and coach them towards their goals.

For several years I’ve implemented coaching strategies, underpinned by identity principles, in the corporate world to create a healthy and vibrant team culture.

BUT, after becoming a mum and experiencing matrescence for the third time I felt strongly compelled to immerse myself in academic literature again and write about mothers and motherhood. A few years later I undertook Dr Sophie Brock’s Motherhood Practitioner Certification and launched Motherhood and Matrescence.

Sounds like a simple story hey but I left out all the parts mothers usually do

What I didn’t say was that becoming a mother broke and made me – every time. It changed my relationships, my energy, my sense of purpose, my confidence and my beliefs …it changed – everything.

Our motherhood stories are never straightforward, they are rich with emotion, decisions, wisdom and courage. I’m looking forward to hearing your story when you’re ready.

My Approach

Recentering the woman.

There’s beauty and brutality in mothering. I believe it’s important to celebrate the ways in which mothering can enrich our lives AND it’s important to advocate for change in the way motherhood and mothering is understood, valued, seen and supported.

Blending research, compassion and curiosity I support mothers to reestablish their sense of self-worth and identity. In doing this work it’s important to acknowledge the motherhood legacy you want to create and honour the mutuality between yourself and and your children – because what happens to one, deeply affects the other.

Your story is yours to write, yours to imagine

How do you want to feel as you craft this chapter of your life?

Let’s work towards that together
